Executive Function Skills for Upper Schoolers


For Upper School students:
Join Learning Specialists, Mrs. Teittinen-Schreck and Dr. Rein, for a three-day workshop to enhance your executive function (EF) skills. EF skills are essential in successfully managing your academic and daily life. Learning these skills can help you become a better planner, a more organized student, and a more strategic test taker. A detailed breakdown of the day-by-day schedule is available below.

Day 1: Introduction to Executive Function (EF) Skills & Time Management
  • What are EF skills and why do they matter?
  • Techniques for effectively managing your time
  • Using a calendar system

Day 2: Physical and Digital Organization
  • MySLS
  • Email and Google drive
  • Binders, folders, and lockers
  • Materials checklists

Day 3: Study Skills and Goal Setting
  • Creating an effective study space
  • Active studying techniques
  • Study plans
  • Goal setting for the first semester

ESS Drop-Ins: ESS is also holding drop-in sessions at no charge on the following dates: June 27, July 11, July 18, July 25, August 1, August 8, and August 15.  SLS students may sign up using the calendar link here.
